* NOTE: All live matter must be at least 5/16" from the TRIM of the magazine. The bleed size listed above is the page trim size with 1/8" minimum bleed added to all sides. It is not the trim size. Make sure that copy does not run into the gutter on two-page spread ads. If you are supplying gatefold materials, please call your sales representative for the correct ad dimensions.

File Format Required: Macintosh formats are required. InDesign 2.0 or CS is preferred for page layout. QuarkXPress 6.0 or below, Illustrator or Photoshop are also acceptable. We cannot accept PDF files (unless X-1a compliant). Include Collect for Output report. CDs are acceptable.

File Requirements: All elements must be placed at 100% on page. No scaling, rotating or other image manipulation to be done in page layout program. 4/C images must be in CMYK mode in TIFF or single file EPS format. PMS colors must be converted to CMYK. Scanned image resolution of 254-304 dpi is recommended. Do not nest EPS files in other EPS files.

Font Requirements: Supply all printer fonts and screen fonts with the file, including fonts embedded in EPS files. All custom or custom-kerned fonts must be named differently from the original font name to avoid type reflow problems. Only Postscript Type 1 or Type 3 fonts will be accepted. NO TRUETYPE OR MULTIMASTER FONTS, PLEASE.

Proof Required: 4/C ads require an Iris, Epson, Kodak approval or other "contract"-quality color digital proof. B/W ads require a laser proof. Any other proofing materials require prior approval by magazine production manager, Steve Nelson (913.649.8558).
